While on-site observing well construction activities, GNK placed passive diffusion bags (PDBs) within the screened interval of each groundwater monitoring well.  After each PDB was allowed to stabilize within the well for at least 14 days, GNK returned to the site and removed the PBDs from the wells.  The PDBs were then pierced and used to carefully fill each sample vial.  Similar to sampling with a baler, the water in the PDB was then immediately transferred to the sampling container by carefully pouring the water into pre-preserved sample vials.  Without an additional mobilization and no groundwater well purging associated with the PDBs, the wells were easily sampled within an afternoon.  Based on these sampling results, the Department of Environmental Quality closed the site and is currently not requiring any further investigation or corrective action at this site.
